Lara was trained in New York City at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. She has performed in the Village Repertory Co. productions of Xanadu (Kira), The Marvelous Wonderettes (Cindy Lou) Winter Wonderettes (Cindy Lou), Spamalot, Ring of Fire, The Man Who Came to Dinner, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, and London Wall (Miss Hooper). She also choreographed their Spamalot and The Wild Party. With Charleston Stage she has appeared in Young Frankenstein, Catch Me if You Can, Legally Blonde, Joseph, 9 to 5, and Cabaret. Some of her other performances include Annie Sullivan in The Miracle Worker (Footlight Players), Charity in Sweet Charity (Flowertown Players), Laura Wingfield in The Glass Menagerie (Threshold Repertory), Janine in Waiting on You (Actor’s Theatre of SC), Lily St. Regis in Annie (Charleston Music Hall), and the original Angela in Perfectly Normel People for which she was honored with a Theatre Charleston Award.
