Many of our students participate in MTC's Performance Troupes. In addition to their required technique classes, they have weekly rehearsals for our full scale productions. Our students perform musicals in our black box theater, as well as professional theaters like the Woolfe Street Playhouse, Footlight Players Theater, and Charleston Music Hall. They've also had opportunities to perform at Disney World, workshops in NYC, workshops at our studio with Broadway performers, the iTheatrics Junior Thearer Festival in Atlanta, the Children's Day Festival, ArtFest at Towne Center, and more!

We have 3 different levels of Troupe: Players, Jr. Company, and Company. This year's Company students will perform Into the Woods, Jr. in November and an abridged version of The Lion King in June, both at Footlight Theater. Our Jr. Company students will be performing The Little Mermaid, Jr at Footlight in February, and The Jungle Book, KIDS in our black box theater in the spring. The Players will make an appearance in Jr. Company's The Little Mermaid, Jr., and will perform 101 Dalmatians, KIDS in our black box theater in April!

TROUPE NEWS

One of our Jr. Company members (Lindy Turner who played in Annie in our Annie, Jr.) made the final cut during the preliminary auditions for the Annie National Tour in NYC! She made it through each cut at callbacks and was one of the final 10 remaining girls, and one of the only ones to be asked to read and sing for the role of Annie, in front of Martin Charnin, the lyricist and director of the original Broadway production of Annie!!!!!

Out of 101 groups, our Shrek cast was one of 12 that won an award for Excellence in Acting at the Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta!
